Definitions

1. Eiffel Tower: the tallest structure in Paris, it is an iron tower built on the Champ de Mars beside the River Seine It was designed by Gustav Eiffel and built between 1887 and 1889. The tower has become a global icon of France and is one of the most recognizable structures in the world
2. England's House of Parliament: the supreme legislative body in the United Kingdom and British overseas territories. At its head is the Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II.
3. Guggenheim Museum Bilbao : a modern and contemporary art museum designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, and opened to the public in 1997. It is located in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. It is built alongside the Nervion River, which runs through the city of Bilbao to the Atlantic Coast.
4. Netherlands : a constitutional monarchy in western Europe on the North Sea; achieved independence from Spain in 1579; half the country lies below sea level.
5. Switzerland : a landlocked federal republic in central Europe; One of the richest countries in the world; Switzerland is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein. Switzerland is multilingual and has four national languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh
6. Sydney Opera House : The Sydney Opera House is the busiest performing arts centre in the world since its opening in 1973. It was designed by Jørn Utzon, a Danish architect, and is one of the best known icons of Australia and has come to represent "Australia"
7. The Colosseum: an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. Its construction started between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus,

8. The French Alps: those parts of the Alps mountain range which lie in France
9. The Parthenon: a temple built for the Greek goddess Athena built in the 5th century BC on the Acropolis of Athens. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece. Its construction began in 447 BC, and the building was substantially completed by 432 BC.
10. A.D. : "anno Domini", or in the year of the Lord. This refers to any dates after the birth of Christ.

20. wide: being a long distance from one side to another.
21. wool : a fabric made from the hair of sheep.
